Introduction

Hi everyone, My name is Megan. I have been at LMC for 2 years now. I'm planning on transferring in the fall to either Chico or San Jose, I just haven't been able to decide yet! My major is English and I plan on being a teacher. I love reading and writing. My favorite books are Looking for Alaska, The Harry Potter series, Divergent series, and many more. I love romance books but I also love mystery and action. I also love writing. I've written a couple shot stories but nothing too serious. Although one day I would love to write seriously. My favorite class I have taken so far at Lmc would have to be Sign Language. I loved the class, my professor and I also made a lot of friends. I also loved learning Sign Language and the history of it.
Over break I had the best time! My best friend and I went to an event called Snow globe. It is a music festival in the snow. We went for New Years and had a blast, we are looking forward to going again this year! I also went to Disneyland, it was super fun, I go to Disneyland whenever I can because I love it so much!
I like different kinds of music. I listen to country, pop, rap, edm and alternative. I have a wide variety of music taste thanks to everyone in my life. I have been to a lot of concerts, they are pretty much my favorite thing to do besides going to Disneyland.
I also have three dogs! I have a bull mastiff, his name is Gus.
I have collie mix, his name is Tanner and we rescued him.
We also just added a new puppy his name is Chase and he is a Lab.
Having three dogs can be a little hectic at times. Especially when we take them on walks, they can be difficult.
I do have two job right now, I work at Victoria's Secret and I work at an office! I love my jobs, I love everyone I get to help and I like getting to know the people I work with.

That's all for me but I am super excited to get to know some of you better and work with you all!

    Hi Megan! Welcome to the course! That music festival sounds like it was so much fun! I have two dogs and they keep me ridiculously busy, so my hat's off to you for having three! I look forward to working with you this semester.

    Hi Megan!

    I've also thought about being an English major in the past because English was my favorite subject through out school. It always came very easy to me. And I also like to write, though I should spend a little more time in doing so. I think it's great you took sign language and enjoyed it! I really want to take that class as well and I just think that I might! Good luck this semester!

    Nice to meet you, Megan!
    I'm also an English major and haven't decided where to transfer just yet. It's stressful to hunker down and finally make that all important decision. Hopefully, you're able to to come to a decision soon enough without too much hassle. After all, decisions like these are the best kind of stress leading us towards our goals. I also wear many hats in terms of my favorite genre's of music. I'll never understand those who only listen to one or two genre's of music. There are so many wonderful styles/genre's to only subject yourself to a few. Some of the best experiences are provided by listening to different types of music, going to concerts and meeting a variety of different people.

    Hi Megan, it's nice to meet you. I also love reading. Once upon a time I wanted to be an elementary school teacher but decided to major in business Administration instead. We seem to share interest in romance books although I too enjoy a good action book. I was thinking about taking a sign language class sounds like you really enjoyed the class, so I may have to give it a try. I have a pet too, a Chihuahua named Summer she is a year old. I hope you have a great semester.

    Hi Megan, it's great to hear that youve completed two years at los medanos and are now on the verge of transfering in the fall. I also love reading mystery as well. One of my favorite mystery novels is Gone baby Gone by Dennis Lehane which is about a little girl gone missing and the Boston police and private detectives are now trying to look for her and soon realize that there's more at stake than just the girl's disappearance.

    Hey Megan!
    Congrats on getting in and out of LMC pretty quick. I am also considering going to SJSU and studying English! What grade level are you interested in teaching? I have heard of the event called Snow Globe and it looks like a lot of fun. I would like to try and make it out there this year. A few friends of mine went this past event and they loved it. Nice to meet you!

    I recently went up to Chico to see what it was like because I am also considering transferring there. It was really pretty but is a really long drive. We have some of the same favorite books, I love Harry Potter and Divergent! What was your favorite concert to go to? What is your favorite thing about Disneyland?

Weekly Review The reading for me went great this week. I really enjoyed both of the readings. Tartuffe was probably my favorite because it had a lot of drama, which is so fun for me. I did like The Song of Ch’un-Hyang but it made me a sad when she was beaten so badly. I loved Ch’un-Hyangs passion though; the love for her husband was unconditional. They never made me feel bored or felt like it was dragging on which is always good! I’m sure all the readings will interest me. My best writing this week was probably in this class with my reading notes. I took a lot of time to make sure my notes were nicely written so I would be able to look at them in the future and be able to understand the reading. A good strategy for me is to pause in the reading and take notes as I go along, so I know exactly what I was thinking in that moment. And how my feelings change throughout the story. Week 3, Analysis

Week 3 Analysis  - Tartuffe Themes In this story we see multiple themes. Some of them are Hypocrisy, Love, Family and Religion. I saw these through out the whole reading. Hypocrisy is the main theme for me. We saw it a lot. Every one called Tartuffe a hypocrite because they thought he acted pure and godly but they said it was all fake. They also called him a hypocrite because he had a "following" but was lusting after another mans wife. This is the definition of a hypocrite, going against your own words. We also see Love. At first Orgon had such a strong brotherly love for Tartuffe. He even went against his family to give Tartuffe the deed to their property. He also tried to force his daughter into marriage with Tartuffe. I believe Orgon has a big heart and it shows. He wants to see the good in Tartuffe when every one was rooting against him. Leopold Sedar Senghor Senghor was a poet, a founder of the Negritude movement, and the first president of independent Senegal. (676). Senghor was born in Joal, a small fishing village in the Sine-Saloum basin in west-central Senegal. The first African American student to pass the highly competitive examination for the agregation,  he was qualified a pursue a career in the French educational system.
